Tooth extraction, gentle and easy as it could be, will still be felt as trauma to our body!

After all, it is not a physiological process like the loss of milky teeth. Fixed teeth are not supposed to be replaced and are meant to serve us throughout our hole lives. Therefore, in a condition of irreparable damage to the tooth that leaves no other treatment choice apart than tooth extraction.

The body goes into alert status to protect itself on one hand and to repair the damage on the other hand. This process does not always flow smoothly, the ability of the body to handle tooth extraction at that moment depends on the condition of the mouth in particular and the condition of the entire body in general.

How does the body deal with the tooth extraction?

In one hand, If the tooth extraction performed after suffering a lot of pain, you also might have been swollen and taken a lot of pills and tried all kinds of things to relieve the pain and lower the swelling and it didn’t work and only then you decided to go to a dentist to do the tooth extraction, don’t expect the healing process to be easy. The background is problematic, the area is contaminated and the entire body is stressed so its ability to handle the extraction is not at its best.

Add poor oral hygiene (you didn’t brush your teeth because it hurt, for example) then the chances of complications after the tooth extraction are greater.

In the other hand, if you noticed a lesion earlier (for example, with a wisdom tooth) and went straight to the doctor and decided to have the tooth extraction, the chances of complications are very small.

pay attention:

The tooth extraction process itself also greatly affects the healing rate after extraction. If the extraction was light and gentle then healing also flows faster and smoother. If the extraction was severe and traumatic (for example, surgical extraction) then healing will also be longer and more difficult.

Post extraction guidelines:

  • Leave the gauze for about 20 minutes under pressure on the extraction spot to stop the bleeding. Even if the gauze fills up with blood, do not remove or replace! At the end of time gently take it out.
  • Do not eat or drink for 2 hours.
  • Do not rinse your mouth on the first day of the extraction and brush normally but gently.
  • do not spit, the spit creates a vacuum in the mouth that can detach the blood clot.
  • do not smoke at least 48 hours! Smoking increases the chance of a dry socket.
  • Eat and drink only soft and cold foods.
  • Avoid finger or tongue stimulations at the extraction site.
