A lot of doctors do not like to mess with root canal treatment especially when it comes to upper back molars. No access, hard to see, inconvenient to work and the results are not really promising. Many doctors even prefer to hire another doctor who will do root canal treatment in their clinic or refer patients to a root canal specialist who will perform the treatment.
Is referring to a root canal specialist the right option?
In general any dentist can perform reasonable root canals treatment without any
problem. After all, we have learned and we are qualified to do so even without
specialization. a specialist is not required to do reasonable root canals treatment.
Just like implants, a surgeon is not required to perform an implant, any dentist is
qualified to perform an implant.

Why do general dentists don’t like to do root canal treatment?
The reason: Root canal treatment requires a lot of patience, knowledge and tools that can make root canal treatment much more pleasant and fast and the results much more accurate. It’s a matter of investment in the end. A lot of doctors just are not worth the investment because they do not get paid accordingly and then everything becomes superficial and inaccurate and failure is a matter of time!
When you have to do root canal treatment do not choose the cheapest!
The pain will go away and you will think that everything is fine, but if the treatment is not done properly in the end, inflammation will develop and the tooth will reach displacement and it is a pity. It can take a month, two months, half a year, a year, sometimes a few years and you will lose the tooth.
Always remember that good root canals treatment can last a lifetime so why compromise on less ?!
