It all starts with a little cavity…

A hole that is barely visible, does not hurt, does not interfere and can be lived with comfortably without any problem. The hole continues to develop and grow, a slight sensitivity begins, over time food begins to get stuck there and so it continues until the caries digs deep into the tooth and reaches the root of the tooth. This is where the strong pain begins, especially at night. We start swallowing pills until the pills no longer help then we are forced to go to the dentist who performs root canal treatment.

Why am I telling you this right now?

Because I do not want you to get into this situation again! After all, it all started with a little hole.
Please note, arriving for treatment in the early stages, save you suffering, pain and unnecessary expenses.

Everytime you brush, take a look at your teeth:

You do not need a dentist to see that something has changed in the teeth. If you see something new or something suspicious, go to the dentist for an in-depth examination. There are situations where it is okay and nothing needs to be done. In the worst case you may need to perform a small restoration of the tooth (filling), do not even need anesthesia and everything works out.

It must be noted that there are also situations where you are forced to do root canal treatment because of a trauma (accident), or in preparation for rehabilitative treatment such as a crown. Root canal treatments in such situations are designed to preserve the tooth and protect it from future damage.

It is important that you understand, root canal treatment is one treatment before tooth extraction. We disconnect the tooth from the nervous system and blood. On the one hand, the tooth no longer hurts, and on the other hand the tooth “dries out” and weakens due to absent of blood flow, becoming more sensitive and less resistant to changes, so it must be protected.

Guidelines and recommendations after root canal treatment:

  • Do not eat or drink for 2 hours after treatment

Give some time for the temporary filling to dry out and for the anesthesia to go through otherwise you may injure yourself.

  • It is forbidden to bite in a tooth for a week to ten days

The tooth after root canal treatment becomes sensitive to touch due to changes in the gripping mechanism of the tooth due to the absent of blood flow. This sensitivity will pass on its own. If you put a load on the tooth, this sensitivity will become a pain and the treatment of the tooth will be prolonged.

  • You can brush your teeth normally but gently

Keep the temporary filling in place. If it falls, contaminants will penetrate into the tooth and inflammation will develop and then everything gets complicated.

  • Eat on the other side and stick to soft foods

The tooth is sick do not over load. Give her time to rest.

  • You can take pain-killers

If you have pain that day, take a pill, its ok. (Paracetamol, Optalgin, Narosin and the like)

  • In case of severe pain or swelling

Apparently it is an inflammatory tooth. And no… The doctor did not leave a root in the tooth !!
Inflammation secretes fluids and gases that exert internal pressure in the tooth and cause pain. Contact the clinic, we will help you.
