The days of painful dental visits has gone – we SmilePlaceTLV use advanced technology for dental treatments like laser root canal treatment.

Traditional root canal treatment:

root canal

As any dentist understands, performing dental treatments is necessary for the health, well-being and comfort of patients, but sometimes these procedures can be unpleasant and even painful. One of the most common procedures is root canal treatment. Root canal treatment is a dedicated procedure that must be performed when the soft internal tissue of the tooth – called the dental pulp – is diseased or damaged, resulting in pain. The way to relieve this pain is through endodontics, or root canal treatment.

Many sources have reported that the number of root canals performed annually in the United States exceeds 24
millions! In Israel, too, the numbers are very high. As a relatively common but painful dental treatment, no wonder
that patients are afraid of it. A root canal procedure involves removing diseased and contaminated tissue from the tooth
and its roots, followed by thorough disinfection by rinsing with sodium hypochlorite.

At the end, the dentist puts in an inert filler – usually Gotha Percha, which is a natural type of latex material harvested from tropical trees originating in Southeast Asia – to a canal to preserve its structure as long as possible.

Although root canal procedures are generally successful, there are reports that the failure rate ranges from 4 to 6 percent, thus requiring patients to undergo repeated root canal treatment. And in some cases the treated tooth cannot be saved, meaning the patient may need to extract the tooth and replace it with an implant or a bridge.

Laser root canal treatment

Did you know that laser is now a proven successfull treatment of performing traditional root canals?

With the advancement of technology that has introduced the laser in various fields of general medicine, laser dentistry has also taken part in this advancement. In fact, dental lasers are used to clean and shape root canals and to disinfect laser root canal after endodontic treatment. Laser root canal treatment is much more convenient, fast and the success rates are much greater.

Laser root canal is used to open the tooth to create access to the root canal. Then, using a combination of air / water spray and laser energy, the dentist can remove diseased tissue, clean contaminated canals, shape the canal and fill it. The chances of success are very high and the most important thing is that it is without pain! In fact, laser root canal treatment produces a positive, gentle, non-invasive experience with extremely high success rates.

Benefits of laser root canal treatment:

  • Simple and convenient for the patient.
  • Usually needs a single meeting.
  • Proven efficiency.
  • No bleeding.
  • No need for rinses with a disgusting taste.
  • Biological effect accelerates healing.
  • Analgesic Effet pain free.
