Cold sores (aphthous ulcers or herpes) are painful blisters that form inside the mouth. These blisters can form on the tongue, lips, throat, inner cheeks and gums of various sizes. The exact cause of these wounds is unknown, however there are several theories that relate to the formation of wounds.

Simple wounds are formed when the tissue inside the mouth is stimulated or the body has been subjected to a lot of stress. Some acidic foods may also cause cold sores, but are more likely to irritate them. These foods include many different fruits with a sour taste, like lemons.

Complex wounds may occur when a person has an immune system disorder, nutritional imbalance and certain diseases.

Mouth sores, symptoms:

The symptoms of sores in the mouth include a swollen and painful blister that is everywhere inside the mouth. Apatite or herpes sores occur only in the mouth and are often red, white, gray or pinkish. Before the pain appears in the mouth, a burning or itching may appear in the affected area. When the case of a more severe wound, more severe symptoms such as; Fever, fatigue and swelling of the lymph nodes.

Mouth sores are simple to heal, often on their own within a few days. As the wounds begin to heal, the pain will also begin to subside until it subsides. If the wound starts to get smaller after reaching its peak, it is a sign that the wound will probably go away on its own. However, sometimes the wounds do not go away. They will continue to get bigger and as they grow in size the pain will increase. In this case, the pain will need to be treated by a dentist.

Mouth sores, treatment:

When cold sores are treated by a dentist, he may prescribe something called microbial mouthwash. This rinse is used to kill the bacteria inside the wound. However, this type of treatment is not always effective and another type of treatment can be used.

The most innovative treatment for treating cold sores in the mouth is laser. A laser device called Epic Renewal from the world’s leading laser company BIOLASE may be used not only to treat cold sores, but also to get rid of any pain in the area. EPIC laser can be used on soft tissues to remove the wounds from the mouth.
