In previous article we spoke about dental sensitivity phenomen and dentin exposure reasons. In this article we will give you anti-sensitivity solutions that may solve the problem or at least ease the sensitivity.

lets begin…

Dental hygiene treatment:

High percentage of patients with sensitive teeth also suffer from gingivitis and excessive accumulation of tartar. The tartar causes receding gums, exposing dentin and sensitive teeth! Dental hygiene treatment can significantly reduce the phenomenon and prevent aggravation of the condition.

In the first stage after removing the tartar the sensitivity will increase. Do not worry it will pass. You must do this otherwise the future damage is much more severe. We also recommend that you make sure to get a dental hygiene treatment at least twice a year for your health.

Proper teeth brushing education:

As we have already mentioned, aggressive brushing or with hard brush or abrasive tooth paste can cause enamel damage or receding gums and exposing dentin and sensitive teeth.

Note that the main purpose of brushing is maintaining healthy gums, aggressive brushing may clean the teeth well but definitely damages the gums!

In addition, it is important to use dental floss and mouth washes to complete the cleaning process. There are special anti-sensitivity mouth wash.

Anti-sensitivity preparations:

The function of these preparations is to lower the level of sensitivity of the tooth and also to coat the dentin with a protective layer that will prevent the irritation causing the pain.

Note that the results here are not immediate, you will need to use the product over time, be patient and consistent, slowly the sensitivity begins to pass.

It is also important to note that these preparations work differently on each and every one of us, there is a situation that a certain tooth paste that was recommended to you will work great for you, and there is a situation that it will not affect at all!

Choose a tooth paste and brush with it for a month, if it works great you have succeeded, if not then replace it, try another one. There is no particular tooth paste best of all, there are no magic formulas.

Examples of anti-sensitivity preparations:
Sensodyne tooth-paste or Colgate pro-Relief.

Apply coconut oil on the affected area:

Coconut oil also heals the gums and encourages blood circulation, also coats the tooth with a protective layer that prevents sensitivity.

Dental veneers:

If the exposed area is visible, a tooth coating with a composite material (filling) or porcelain coating should be considered, in some situations even a crown.

Root Canal:

There are extreme conditions when  teeth are unbearably sensitive, in these situations root canal treatment is the only treatment that can solve the problem immediately. It is not recommended to rush for such treatment, although the great advantage is that the sensitivity passes, but root canal treatment also has disadvantages.
